Currently a medical student at the St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, Sidharth Handa, also known as Tony Handa, previously studied business administration and pre-medicine as an undergraduate at Furman University. Sidharth Handa will soon begin his third year of medical school, which involves rotations in various fields of medicine at a hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
A former US Army captain, Sidharth Handa served as a civil affairs officer for the US Army Special Operations Provincial Reconstruction Team from 2007 to 2008. During this period, he worked to establish health clinics throughout the Kunar Province in Afghanistan and then staffed them in cooperation with Aide Medical International, a French non-governmental organization. He additionally coordinated improvements to the Asadabad Provincial Hospital.
Over the course of his career, Tony Handa has also held responsibilities in roles with multiple pharmaceutical companies, including Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals and Novartis Pharmaceuticals. At the former, he performed as a sales consultant for a year; at the latter, he worked as a sales representative for four years.
